CARDINALS MOVE UP AGAIN

Courtesy of UIW Sports Information

The latest coach’s poll for Division II has Incarnate Word in yet a higher slot that ever before.

Still unbeaten at 11-0 for the year the Cardinals have jumped into the top 10 for the nation at number nine after being 14th in the previous voting.

UIW is off to its best start in 11-plus seasons of competition as an NCAA institution. And, that 11-0 start is fourth best in Incarnate Word history to begin a season.

Playing their first year in the Lone Star Conference, the Cardinals have one more cross-over game this week against North Division competition before embarking on a series game in the South Division in search of a post-season berth in the LSC championship tournament.

UIW is seeking its third consecutive trip to the Division II regional tournament in March.
