Senior Central Missouri quarterback Eric Czerniewski joins some of the nation's best college football talent this week in Kingsville. It's the 10th installment of the Cactus Bowl, a Division-II pro bowl, that invites 88 players to compete, and work out in front of NFL scouts at Javelina Stadium.
"I took the test (for the NFL), and yes, they (scouts) will be here all week during our practices and drills. It can be nerve-racking, but I feel like I've put in a lot of hard work with all I've done."
Czerniewski broke the DII single-season passing record for yards and touchdowns this season en route to winning the Holden Hill Trophy, division-II's equivalent to the Heisman.

Combined, Eric Czerniewski and Zach Amedro threw for almost 16 miles during their respective collegiate careers, completed 2,122 passes and threw 207 touchdown passes.
Now, two of the most prolific passers in NCAA Division II history will be aligned on the same team. The two will quarterback the Red Storm against the Blue Devils at Javelina Stadium in Friday night’s Cactus Bowl, the 17th edition of the Division II all-star game.
The problem is that there is only one football and only one quarterback on the field at a time.
“I don’t think there is enough time in a single game for both of us to be out there,” said a chuckling Czerniewski, the Central Missouri standout who was this year’s recipient of the Harlon Hill Trophy, the D-II equivalent of the Heisman Trophy. “But it’s been fun watching him and seeing his style. But he’s definitely got some outstanding numbers as well. He holds the career mark for passing yards. We both like to throw it around, that’s for sure.”

The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs aren't ranked in the USA Today/ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll for the first time since the 2005-06 preseason rankings.
The Lady Buffs (6-5) did receive 36 votes in the poll released Tuesday.
WT's streak of 84 consecutive appearances in the poll ends after dropping three consecutive games for the first time since February 2002.
