Players of the Week
LSC North Women's
Renee Renz, Texas Woman's University, Sr., Forward, Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound HS
Renz followed up her record-setting 63 point performance against ACU last Monday night with back-to-back strong efforts versus No. 6 West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico. She played one of her best games of the season in the dramatic win over the Lady Buffs as she made 8 of 9 field goals and 9 of 12 free throws to finish with a TWU team-high 26 points. She also grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked three shots against WTAMU. In the victory over ENMU, Renz again led TWU with 23 points and 8 rebounds. The Pioneers' senior star is currently scoring at a clip of 25.2 points per game, the second-highest in the LSC, and continues to lead the league with an average of 12.5 rebounds per game.

LSC South Women's
Emily Brister, West Texas A&M University, Sr., Guard, Amarillo, Texas/Amarillo
Brister led the Lady Buffs in scoring last week with two 30+ scoring outings against Texas Woman's and Texas A&M-Commerce. She totaled 69 points, averaging 34.5 points per game. She registered her season high of 35 points against Commerce and also led the team in rebounds with eight. Brister made 26-54 shots in both games, making 48.1% of all shots taken. She also contributed 13 assists, four steals and a block. She set a new WT record for field goals attempted with 1,692 attempts, beating the previous record of 1,659. Brister has broken three WT career records this season so far.

LSC North Men's
Sammy Jackson, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Jr., F, Arlingon, Texas/Jacksonville College
Averaged a double-double with 14.5 points and 11 rebounds in the Lions' two wins over Eastern New Mexico (Jan. 8, 73-64) and West Texas A&M (Jan. 10, 78-72). He registered his first double double in the win over the Greyhounds, scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds in the win. 10 of his rebounds came on the defensive end and he also knocked down his sixth three-pointer of the season. Against West Texas A&M, he was one of three Lions in double figures with 15 points, while he was one rebound shy of a double-double with nine caroms. In addition, he was one of four Lions to be perfect from the free-throw line (6 of 6) as the Lions made 36 of 48 free throw attempts.

Lionel Brown, Angelo State University, Sr., Guard, Ardmore, Okla./Ardmore
Brown had two consecutive 20-plus point performances to lead the Rams in scoring for the week. The 5-10 senior started his week of with a 28-point showing at Northeastern State, going 10-of-13 from the field including 4-of-6 from three-point range, to lead ASU past NSU for its fourth straight win. He followed that up with a 22-point outing at No. 4-ranked Central Oklahoma, going 7-of-12 from the floor, 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, in a four-point loss to the Bronchos. For the week, Brown averaged 25 points, shot .680 from the field, .615 from three-point range, converted 80 percent of his free-throw attempts, dished out eight assists and recorded two steals.
