LSC Preseason Poll

Abilene Christian is favored to repeat as the Lone Star Conference regular season champion in 2009, according to the league's annual preseason polls announced Thursday.

ACU collected 19 of the 28 first-place votes on the ballots cast by LSC coaches, sports information directors and various media representatives for 324 total points. The Wildcats finished 44-17 last season and won the LSC regular season title with a 35-7 mark in conference play.

Angelo State claimed four first-place votes and 290 points to finish second in the voting on the heels of a 39-19 record in 2008.
