LSC Roundup 1-26

Rams baseball team faces hurdle at Foster Field
The San Angelo Colts aren't the only team locked out of Foster Field right now.

The Angelo State University baseball team is wondering if those locks will be removed in time for its season-opening doubleheader against Ouachita Baptist on Sunday.
-------------------------------------
The stadium was scheduled for public auction on Jan. 6, but that was delayed when United Baseball League owner Brad Wendt and United Sports Equities added the Colts and Foster Field to its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filings in a Florida federal court.

That halted the sale of Foster Field, at least temporarily.

Angelo State University owns the land on which Foster Field sits and has said whoever buys the stadium must allow ASU access for its baseball team to play there, as per a lease signed in 1999.

The son of a preacher man
Marlin Cloudy knows a thing or two about overcoming obstacles.

The senior guard who has led Tarleton State University in scoring six times and posted double figures nine times in 12 games since returning from a broken foot, wasn't even supposed to have a collegiate career.

“I tore my ACL my senior year in high school,” said Cloudy. “I just thought that was it.”

Some housekeeping
NY Jets add former SOSU and TAMK assistant Jeff Weeks as a defensive coach. Weeks had previously coached with Jets HC Rex Ryan at Morehead State and OU.
