Weekly Soccer Roundup

NSCAA/adidas Rankings

Men

Regional - Midwestern State stays on top, West Texas A&M is second, and Eastern New Mexico is eighth.

National - Midwestern State drops from second to sixth and West Texas A&M also drops 4 spots, from 12th to 16th.



Women

Regional - Central Oklahoma is third, West Texas A&M is sixth, Texas A&M Commerce is seventh and Texas Womens is tenth.

National - Central Oklahoma drops from 9th to 22nd and is the only team ranked nationally.

Offensive
Jennifer Bukowski, Angelo State, Jr., Forward, Houston, Texas/Cypress Falls HS

Bukowski scored three goals last week, including both scores in the Rambelles' 2-1 win over No. 5 Incarnate Word on Sunday. The junior from Houston put ASU up quick on the Cardinals with a goal just 55 seconds into the contest. She added her second goal against UIW in the 11th minute to seal the victory. Bukowski also had the first goal in ASU's 4-0 win over McMurry on Tuesday. The efficient Rambelle scored her three goals on just five shots.

Defensive
Amber Korb, Angelo State, Sr., Defender, Sandy, Utah/Jordan
Korb anchored a Rambelle defense that sparked a 2-1 record last week that included a win over No. 5 ranked Incarnate Word on Sunday. Against UIW, ASU gave up just 10 shots, but only three of which were on goal, in a 2-1 victory. On Tuesday, the Rambelles allowed just one shot, that coming on a free kick in a 4-0 win over McMurry.

Goalkeeper
Aly Vincent-Evans, Texas Woman's, Sr., Goalkeeper, Denton, Texas/Billy Ryan
The Pioneers' senior goalkeeper was at her best last weekend, allowing just one goal against while making ten saves in more than 165:00 minutes played to help her team pick up back-to-back wins over Missouri Western State and Missouri Southern State in Joplin, Missouri. Vincent now has a 3-1-0 record for the 2008 season.

Rodrigues scored twice on Sunday against Colorado Christian, including the game-winning goal. In the game, he had 10 shots, including seven on goal.
