AFCA Poll 9-21

Ouachita Baptist (Ark.), fresh off a 24-14 upset of then-No. 16 Valdosta State (Ga.), and Charleston (W.Va.) enter the AFCA Division II Coaches’ Top 25 Poll for the first time in their program’s history. Charleston is 4-0 and ranked No. 20 while Ouachita Baptist is 3-0 and ranked No. 21. Grand Valley State (Mich.) still holds down the top spot for a fifth consecutive week, earning 24 of 25 first place votes. The Lakers beat Ferris State (Mich.), 17-10, and moved to 4-0 on the season. Abilene Christian (Texas) still sits No. 2 with North Alabama receiving the final first place vote and ranked No. 3. Bloomsburg (Pa.) and Central Washington round out the Top 5. The Top 10 remained unchanged this week, but there was a lot of movement from No. 11 to No. 25 because of upset losses to Chadron State (Neb.), Indiana (Pa.), Pittsburg State (Kan.) and Washburn (Kan.), just to name a few.
