2007 Recap
After eight games, the Texans were cruising - undefeated, and with wins over two ranked teams, plus IAA Stephen F Austin, and found themselves ranked number 8 in the nation. Then came week nine and Abilene Christian. In a game that should go down as an all-time LSC epic, Tarleton State rolled up 602 yards of offense and scored 63 points....AND LOST 70-63. Two weeks later, the Texans lost to West Texas A&M 37-14 and failed to qualify for the playoffs despite a 9-2 record.

Week 11 - West Texas A&M - Much like last year, this could be a de-facto playoff game and possibly decide the LSC title
Best Case Scenario
11-0 The offense is actually better than last year, and the defense, with solid newcomers, has time to gel. The schedule lends itself to building the team early in the year and peaking at the end of the season. Senior leadership is instrumental in pulling out close games.
Worst Case Scenario
7-4 With so many newcomers, the defense never develops chemistry, and the Texans are forced to win games with only offense.
