Scrimmage offers Texans opportunity for full speed action

Tarleton State will take the next step in preparations for the start of the 2008 football season with an informal intrasquad scrimmage at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

Head Coach Sam McElroy says the scrimmage will be the first time many aspects of the game are practiced at full speed by the Texans.
“We’ll get to go ‘live’ with our special teams, and that’s not something we can do in practice,” he said. “It will be nice to see how our guys handle a lot of different game-type situations at full speed.”

McElroy confirmed the Texans have lost two student-athletes to injury this week.
