DURANT — Nearly all of Southeastern Oklahoma State University’s football players were running drills, learning schemes, passing and catching balls for the first practice of the season Thursday. One was learning how law is practiced. Justin Pitrucha pleaded no contest to reduced misdemeanor charge of possession of marijuana in Bryan County District Court Thursday. Pitrucha, on suspension from SE’s football team, received an 11-month suspended sentence.
Pitrucha was originally hit with a felony charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 2,000 feet of a school, stemming from an April arrest that allegedly broke up a pot-party at an appartment in the 1300 block of North Second Avenue.
His status with the football team is still not resolved, but football practice concluded before knowledge of the reduced charge when SE coach Ray Richard spoke with reporters.

When Durant Police arrested Pitrucha back in April, he was charged with a felony: possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within 2,000 feet of a school. Pitrucha could have been sentenced four years to life in prison.
But now, Pitrucha doesn't have to worry about spending any time in prison.
